What causes low back pain?
Low back pain can be caused by a number of factors from injuries to the
effects of aging. The spinal cord is protected by the vertebrae, which are made
of bone. Between each vertebra are soft discs with a ligamentous outer layer.
These discs function as shock absorbers to protect the vertebra and the spinal
cord. Many of the problems that cause back pain are the result of herniation and
degeneration of the intervertebral disc. Degeneration is a process where wear
and tear causes deterioration of the disc. Herniations, or bulging of the disc
are protrusions from the disc that press on surrounding nerves, causing pain or
numbness.

If I undergo SpineMED treatment, how long does
it take to see results?
Most patients report a reduction in pain after the first few sessions.
Typically, significant improvement is obtained by the second week of treatment.

How long does it take to complete SpineMED
treatment?
Sessions times are between 30-45 minutes, 3 to 4 times per week depending on
the individual, and the severity of the condition.

What is the success rate of the SpineMED
Treatment?
Extensive clinical testing has proven the SpineMED to achieve an 93% success
rate in treating herniated and degenerated disc with less than a 4% recurrence
rate of your problem.

Do I qualify for the SpineMED treament?
Obviously proper patient selection is essential to favorable outcomes, so let
me explain to you of the Inclusion and Exclusion criteria so you may make the
right decision since not everyone qualifies for the SpineMED treatment.
Inclusion Criteria:
o Pain due to herniated and bulging lumbar/cervical discs that is more than
four weeks old
o Recurrent pain from a failed back surgery that is more than six months old.
o Persistent pain from degenerated disc not responding to four weeks of
therapy.
o Pain from spinal stenosis
o Pain from the pinching of the sciatica nerve
o Patients available for four weeks of treatment protocol.
o Patient at least 18 years of age.
Exclusion Criteria:
o Appliances such as pedicle screws and rods
o Pregnancy
o Prior lumbar fusion less than six months old
o Metastatic cancer
o Severe osteoporosis
o Compression fracture of lumbar spine below L-1 (recent).
o Pars defect
o Pathologic aortic aneurysm.
o Pelvic or abdominal cancer
o Disc space infections
o Severe peripheral neuropathy
o Hemiplegia, paraplegia, or cognitive dysfunction.
However due to the technology of the SpineMED no one is excluded prior to a
free consultation.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?
That is the beauty of spinal decompression. As long as you are a qualified
candidate for the treatment and standard protocol is followed, there are no
physical side effects that can be caused by the treatment itself.

What is the difference between the SpineMED,
DRX9000, and the VAX-D?
The SpineMED is three generations past the initial VAX-D table developed years
ago and one generation past the DRX.
The most obvious differences between the SpineMED and the VAX-D would be
their success rate and the comfort levels while a patient is being treated.
Below are some side by side comparisons.
SpineMED
* 93% Success Rate
* Patient lays on back (supine)
* Harnesses prevent any stress to the shoulders or arms.
* The amount of decompression can be targeted to the specific disc level by
varying the angle of traction.
VAX-D
* 72% Success Rate
* Patient lies face down (prone) which can be very uncomfortable
* Required patients to hold on with their hands causing severe shoulder/arm
problems
* Nonspecific for disc levels with its straight-line traction
DRX 9000
The main differences between SpineMED and the DRX is that of effectiveness
and efficiency. Due to the innovative design and functionality of the SpineMED,
it takes 1/4 the time to place a patient on the table (which is the key to a
great session) and it takes a minimum of half the actual tension needed to
produce the same results. This means that you will be on and off the machine
quicker and you won't be stretched harder than you need to. To see a full

tables that exist today,

What are my chances for success?
The American Journal of Pain Management reports an 86% chance of success for
patients suffering from herniated intervertebral discs, and even higher, with
over 90% success reported in cases of sciatica, stenosis, deterioration and
arthrosis.
